Flash Reading

Come to support your friends and vote for your favorite piece of student-written flash! The winner(s) will receive writing-themed prizes as well as publication in Corridors!

The reading will take place on Friday, November 13 at 6:00 pm in the 3rd Floor Reading Room. At the reading, both faculty and students will share their short short fiction, creative  nonfiction, and prose poetry. There will be snacks and refreshments!

What is flash? Flash writing is under 1000 words. Despite its concise nature, short fiction and nonfiction are full and complete pieces, astound with intentional detail. These pieces will shock the readers—that was only two pages?!—and leave them wanting to hear more. For reference, some examples of flash may be found on online literary journals, such as Wigleaf for flash fiction and Brevity for creative nonfiction among various others.
